Understanding Invoicing on Worksome

Worksome simplifies the invoicing process for freelancers and contractors. Instead of creating and sending invoices manually, Worksome automates it for you. Here’s a breakdown of how invoicing works on the platform.

The Payment Request Process

To get paid for completed work, follow these steps:

  1. Create a Payment Request: Navigate to your job conversation or Dashboard, then submit a payment request.

  2. Approval and Invoice Generation: Once the company approves your request, Worksome automatically generates and sends an invoice to the client on your behalf.

Accessing Your Invoices

You can easily access and download your invoices for record-keeping and accounting. Here’s how:

  • Go to the Payment Request page in your job conversation to find downloadable invoices, which are formatted to suit accounting needs.

Getting Paid

Once the invoice has been sent:

  • Payment Notification: You will receive an email notification when the client’s payment is processed.

  • Funds Availability: The payment will appear in your Worksome account once it’s received from the client.

  • Withdrawing Funds: Log in to Worksome to transfer funds to your bank account or set up auto-withdrawals for a more seamless experience.

Important: Make sure your bank details in Worksome are accurate to avoid payment delays.

Additional Notes

  • Tax Reporting: Remember to report your Worksome income to your local tax authority. For personalized tax advice, consult a tax professional.

Using Your Own Bookkeeping System

If you manage your own bookkeeping and need to issue invoices from your company, here’s what to keep in mind:

  1. Issue an Invoice to Worksome: You can issue an invoice from your company directly to Worksome for your records.

  2. Replicate in Worksome: Submit a corresponding payment request within Worksome.

  3. Attach the Invoice (if needed): Attach your company’s invoice to the client conversation in Worksome if required. Otherwise, you can keep it solely for your records.

Example: For $100 of work, issue an invoice from your company to Worksome for that amount, and then create a matching payment request on the platform.

Worksome Invoices Your Client Directly

Worksome will always invoice your client based on the information in your payment request, so you don’t need to send a separate invoice to the client.
