If you've worked overtime and need to include it in your payment request, Worksome gives you a few flexible options, depending on what you've agreed with your client.

The most straightforward method is to use the "Specified amount" option when creating a payment request. This lets you manually enter the total amount, including overtime, and explain the calculation in the comment box.

Example: How to Calculate Overtime

Let’s say:

  • Your hourly rate is $100

  • Your overtime rate is $200

  • You worked 100 hours total this month

  • 20 of those hours were overtime

Here’s how you would calculate the total:

  • 80 regular hours × $100 = $8,000

  • 20 overtime hours × $200 = $4,000

  • Total: $12,000

You can enter $12,000 as the specified amount and use the comment box to explain your calculation. This gives your client clarity on how you arrived at the final number.

Where to Add Overtime in Worksome

You can start a payment request from:

  • Your dashboard

  • The Payment Requests page

  • The conversation with your client

When the payment request window opens, select “Specified amount” and enter the full amount (including overtime). Then use the comment field to provide any necessary context or breakdown.
