Dependent upon FLSA status, you can be eligible for overtime. If that's the case, this article will guide you through the process of submitting your hours on your timesheet.
Please note that if your job rate is not hourly or weekly, you will need to connect with your client before submitting your hours. This is important in order for your payment request to be processed correctly.
Once your client has sent the contract, you will see a FLSA Classification Pending notification in the conversation with your client.
Our Worksome Payroll team will handle FLSA Status Determination within 4 business hours from the hire being created.
Exempt (not eligible for overtime pay)
Non-exempt (eligible for overtime pay if you work over 40 hours a week)
After the classification is complete, you'll be able to review and sign the contract, and create your timesheet.
How to Submit Your Hours on Your Timesheet
Step 1: Access Your Timesheet
In order to access your timesheet, you'll need to create a payment request in Worksome. Click the Request Payment buttonβyou'll find it in a few spots: on your dashboard, in the Payment Requests page, or within your conversation with the client.
Step 2: Enter Your Hours
On the Payment Request page, you'll need to enter the hours you worked for the designated billing period. The billing period should be one week, from Monday through Sunday.
After you enter the billing period dates, scroll down and click Create Timesheet.
The Timesheet pop-up will appear and you can enter your start time, break (hours), and end time.
Step 3: Review and Submit
After the timesheet is saved, Worksome will automatically calculate any overtime and display the breakdown on the payment request.
Once you review the timesheet and confirm that the hours submitted are correct, click the Send Payment Request button.
Your payment request will be visible on the Payment Requests page and the conversation with your client.
