The Timesheet Lines feature in Worksome helps freelancers and clients accurately record and manage hours spent on specific project elements, such as project codes, tasks, or job assignments. By enabling more detailed and flexible time tracking, Timesheet Lines improves transparency and streamlines the payment approval process.

Using Timesheet Lines

1. Setting Up Custom Fields for Payment Requests (Client-Side)

Before freelancers can add Timesheet Lines, clients must create any required custom fields for time tracking.

2. Freelancer creates a Timesheet Line

Once you configure custom fields, freelancers can start adding detailed timesheets.

3. Approving a Payment Request with Timesheet Lines

1. Review Timesheet Summary

  • From the Conversation View, youโ€™ll see:

    • A daily breakdown of total hours.

    • A list of timesheet entries.

    • Clear labels for non-payable hours

2. Approve via the Approval Modal

  • The modal displays a scrollable timesheet view with detailed hours.

  • Summarized timesheet lines show total hours logged.

  • Non-payable hours are clearly labeled for reference.

Note: Ensure all hours are correctly categorized before approving the request.


4. Viewing an Invoice with Timesheet Lines (Client-Side)

Once a payment request is approved:

  • The invoice will list summarized timesheet lines with total hours logged per entry.

  • Non-payable hours will be indicated.

Note: This breakdown supports more efficient payroll processing and provides clearer financial reporting.
