For Companies: An overview of what is customisable in your contracts at Worksome

Written by Tobias Dilling

The Worksome platform refers to freelancer, contingent worker, and independent contractor agreements as a “Booking Contract.” The default Booking Contract is between a company and worker. It is automatically generated in our platform when a worker accepts a booking on the platform. You can find our default Booking Contract and lots of other useful legal resources in our Legal Center. In this guide, we will show you all the ways that you can customize our contract to fit your business.

Hire details

When a hiring manager creates a direct hire in Worksome, they fill in the direct hire form and land on the Hire Details page, where the hire starts in Draft status until they choose to share it with the worker.

Hire details fields (worker-facing):

  • Role / job title

  • Role description and responsibilities

  • Rate and amount (with multi-currency support)

  • Start date / end date

  • Location preference (onsite/remote)

  • Work address

Internal fields:

  • Budget (setting)

  • Project

  • Custom fields (company/organisation-specific)

  • PO number (optional or required, depending on company settings)

Behind the scenes, this populates the hire record (company, freelancer, engagement type, contract type, compensation, compliance status) and the linked contract (job name/description, company legal details, payment terms, contacts). The person who creates the hire automatically becomes the hire owner.

Detailed information on how to create a hire offer is here.

While creating a contract Worksome offers multiple customization options:

Additional terms

A text field labeled "Additional contract terms" where you can add custom clauses.

Editing this field requires the worker to re-sign the contract

Documents

You can upload documents inside your account, and add those to contracts. This could for example be an NDA or a billing/timesheet guide. Those documents will be added as addendums to the contract and all external workers need to approve of them before accepting the contract. You would only need to upload files to documents, see screenshots below:

And add the documents to a contract:

Editing this field requires the worker to re-sign the contract

Custom invoice text

A text field that gets pulled onto invoices.

Editing this field does not require worker re-signature

Billing contact person

The billing contact specifically receives: invoice-booked notifications, regular payment notifications, and factoring payment notifications.

Payment terms, address and billing address, logo and business entity settings will be taken from whatever you have provided inside your company settings and can be changed by an admin in your account at any time, and will reflect on future contracts.
